KAREN FRANKS GCM, MEntr, MBA

Karen has been an entrepreneurial business professional for over thirty years. From innovative strategic planning to significant operational improvement, Karen's clients get more than they expect when working with this talented businesswoman.

Karen began her career as an IT specialist during the formation years of the industry in South Australia. From lessons learnt in creating and running her own businesses in this dynamic industry she progressed to advising and training business owners and managers in core issues such as operations, business development, marketing, client management and leadership. Throughout her career, Karen has also worked in a variety of senior management roles within diverse industries such as; Higher Education, Professional Services (KPMG) and IT.

Whilst at KPMG as Business Operations Manager, Karen decided to consolidate her substantial business management experience with academic qualifications and in 2005 graduated with a Master of Entrepreneurship from the University of Adelaide. Karen continues her strong interest in Entrepreneurship and as such was asked to present a paper during the International Entrepreneurship Research Exchange at Swinburne University in Melbourne. Karen is also asked to judge finals teams at the University of Adelaide Entrepreneurship Challenge on an annual basis.

As a strong advocate of life long learning, Karen continued to study while working and completed a Master of Business Administration at Deakin University in October 2016. During her time with Deakin, Karen was awarded membership in the prestigious Golden Key Society which recognizes individuals who have achieved outstanding academic results.

Karen’s business advisory skills are centered on the management of business strategy including business planning, corporate governance and business process management. Karen also conducts feasibility analyses and new business opportunity assessments. Karen’s primary professional focus continues to be Strategic Entrepreneurship and Innovation.
